Can't Find 2WD Pitman Arm!
Hey everyone, I'm going through the steering on my '89 Pickup w/ power steering; new tie rod ends, ball joints, idler arm, etc. I cannot find a 2WD pitman arm ANYWHERE. Does anybody know where I can find one?

I'm just replacing it because the truck has 240K miles on it and has all the original front end parts still, even TREs and ball joints, and I imagine that the joint in the pitman arm is not in the best of shape. And the pitman arm on the 2WD and 4WD trucks are not the same; the pitman arm on the 2WD trucks from what I gather are ~1" shorter, and are flatter than the 4WD arms.

Best of luck in that case !!
My Napa listing must be wrong then as it lists the same part number for both .
I should ask Power steering or Manual ??
Have you tried your Toyota dealer sometimes you get lucky with older parts??

The pitman arm (for 2wd) does not have any wearing parts. Why would you replace? They could be had used. I have one off a 85 2wd. Should be the same.
I have found parts that have no parts to wear out, usually do not have a replacement available.

Mine has something that resembles a ball joint in one end. Similar to the 4WD arm I believe. Am I wrong? That''s how it appears in mine.

After much searching and calling around, a Toyota dealership ~40 min from me has one in the back room, just by luck. Gonna go grab it tomorrow. Thanks to all for their input.

I was just thinking about it....the arm I have has 475k on it. I wouldn't waste the time or money unless the arm is obviously damaged. It would be a good idea to look at the splines on the steering box though, they get into accidents and the steering box gets overlooked.

Pitman arm, ball joints,
I started last year redoing the front end on my 94 2wd Base 22RE because the whole Assy was loose; you could hear it rattle going over tracks, curbs, etc... I've change the TREs and cross link so far. Upper ball joints and calipers are a problem though. I keep getting parts for something else. Ball joints are too long & calipers are a different brake line connection. Mine is a flare fitting. Does anybody still have info for the p/n and manuf for these? I would like to put it in service again. It will crank up and doesn't burn oil. 265k on it with a manual 5speed. Pretty much all original.

Ball joints came from Rock Auto but they were too long. Before that I tried to change out the whole upper A Frame assy and they sent me something else. Auto Zone had the rightside caliper which is the one with a broken bleeder valve that started the whole deal (Rock Auto had sent me calipers for something else that didn’t fit the file line). So since I have one new caliper I’ll get get another just to match. But the upper ball joints I wouldn’t mind changing out. That’s why I’m looking for a number that someone has used before, that worked on these trucks. I’m just probing around.
