Can't wait till we start bolting panels back on! Yes, the rebuild kit for the gun was just what i needed and it's working well now. Not entirely sure about my compressor setup but at this point I probably shouldn't bother messing with it.
Major progress over the weekend. I finished the bodywork on the driver's rear quarter, primered and block sanded it.
All that I have left is to finish the passenger side quarter welding, bodywork, primer and block sanding and I'll be ready to paint both quarters.
After that, we can reassemble and be driving again!!
Wow this is going to be a crowd pleaser. I sure wish I could setup like you, but I have to do it in small bits one reason I'm having a hard time starting not to mention the weather. My county would hit me up with violations left and right if I were to go gun ho.

Thanks for the encouragement. I think I may have mentioned, I will try not to do it this way again...
Next time I will do ALL the bodywork at once and try to limit the number of painting days due to the reasons you mentioned- weather, neighbors, life, etc.
There are several body shops around my town. The key will be finding one that will rent me a day in their paint booth. I've heard rental inflatable booths are great but
those are not available around here.
Last night I did some stitch welding on the passenger quarter panel patch. The upper part of it is looking pretty good. The lower part, not as much. I may have to remake the lower part. This will ultimately be covered by the factory plastic rock guard, but I want it to be as good as I can make it.
A couple nights ago I realized the mounts for the trim pieces behind the rear wheels were bent from the truck taking some hits to the rear bumper at some point in time.
I thought about a way to realign them other than just hitting them with a hammer or something along those lines. I suppose that would have worked...
So i decided to make a tool for this. I picked through my (small) scrap metal collection and came up with part of a bed rail and one worn skid of an old, old AMF snowblower. I welded those together.
Yeah, don't judge me by my welding skills. I do it so infrequently I have to relearn it every time.

So using the screws that hold the trim on, the tool bolts right up and you can re-align the mounts pretty easily. Nice that the snowblower shoe had the slots cut in it already so I didn't have to drill any holes.
Then my buddy stopped by to catch up so that's where my progress ended for tonight.

With a little more refinement you can make your homemade tool an official Toyota SST for bodywork!
Don't get rid of homemade tools, you never know when they may come in handy later.
I haven't posted in a while...I need about 3 full days to complete my truck. The weather has been super hot and life has gotten in the way.
Here's what needs to happen:
Finish fabricating and welding the patch on the passenger side quarter panel
Body filler and sanding on the quarter panel
Primer the quarter and block sand it
Paint both quarters
Clear both quarters, backs of doors and tailgate
Reassemble
It helps to look at the list written out.
Yup... still need 3 full days.
