We are pretty lucky that they don't salt the roads out here. There are 3 Yotas (2 1gen runners and a 3rd gen pickup) just in my home town that are just sitting, 2 of which appear to be in emmaculate condition. I've made offers on those two but the owners still want too much for me to buy them. Every 6 months or so I stop by to see if they've changed their minds.

Somehow I did it, I got the fender in primer last night!
Tonight will be block sanding with 320 to prepare for weekend color/clear.
The end is in sight!

It was EPIC.
Spent Saturday afternoon block sanding the last quarter panel. It took much longer than I had expected.
Sunday I got on it by about 10 am and spent probably 2 hours first washing down, then masking up the truck.
I had to paint outside because of space limitations. When you are this close it is very easy to forget a step such as wiping down
the panels with wax/grease remover one final time or tack ragging the panel, or putting on your old glasses to avoid getting overspray
on your good glasses, draining the water out of the compressor, etc.
ready to go...Our father, who art in heaven...
My advice on using plastic drop cloths-
the thin ones are too much trouble because the tape will easily stick and make holes in them.
Also, if you get much overspray on them, it can dry, flake off and will land somewhere you don't want it to.
Masking paper is best but takes much longer to apply.

It was quite a hot day, 80F+ in the sun and I was a little concerned that one panel was in the sun and the other in the shade.
I didn't know if that would create any problems for the paint. So I first hit the gas door which was also in the sun.
No problems evident, so I went on.

4 coats of color and two coats of clear later, here is the unmasking. A couple minor blemishes, but overall, I am pleased!
The bodywork and all the painting are behind me now.
Tonight my son and I will begin bolting things back on!

Made some minor progress last night. No photos because I was mostly working by flash light.
Installed the gas door, rear seat lock posts, drivers door welting and door catch. Probably no time to work on it tonight
because of other commitments but planning to be back on the road by the weekend.

Lots of progress over the weekend! we began reassembly and finished with the doors, hood, tailgate, door panels and roll bar back in place.
