I love this thread. It gives me great ideas. Now, I'm thinking about replacing my knob.

I'm resurrecting this thread instead of starting a new one.

I have a 3D printer, and can print a wide variety of objects. Last night, I was able to print using ABS for the first time. I tried a shift knob as my second print with the new material, and it came out great (though a bit too small for my abnormally large hands)

I tried it in my Celica, and the thread fit great. I'm going to try making my own for my truck.

edit: the grenade is most awesome.

I've made a bunch of stuff with the printer, just not shift-knob related.

If I get good at using the 3D modeling software, I might make knobs for transfer cases and other custom applications.

I would like to make a flight-stick style "knob", complete with trigger and buttons.

This pot metal guy came to me on a 1953 Dodge pickup I had in the early 1970s'.

He has been on many of my cars and trucks since. Presently on 'JunkRunner'

He might have once had some paint and rhinestone eyes, but those are long gone.

Light is poor in the garage, JunkRunner in for engine change.

raks88 Did you stretch the shifter on your 83 2wd? Can you give some details on it? I'm going to extend mine as well and yours looks great.
