First Gen 4Runner: Mirror Upgrade Options

So I'm contemplating upgrading my side mirrors on my 86 4Runner. Here a few options I'm considering:

Option 1 - FJ60/62 "Euro Mirrors (HJ60/62)" - often incorrectly referred to as "Aussie Mirrors"

Option 2- FJ70 (Non-US Mirrors)

Option 3 - FJ Cruiser Mirrors - Power, Defrost & Fog Light Possibilities

The only upgrade I'd do to my mirrors would be a quick release so I don't keep smashing them off. With option one do they flip over so you can "get skinny"?

I found this post on FJC mirrors on an FJ62: http://forum.ih8mud.com/60-series-wa...rs-fj62-2.html

It's got me leaning more toward the aussie mirrors at this point

The factory ones are small. Additionally, the theme of my upgrades has been to add on options. I use it as a daily driver and chose to upgrade a first gen vs. going new. I like the older body style but have already enjoyed upgrades such as bluetooth, back-up cam, dvd, and an outside temp guage.

Another perspective. The FJ mirrors get around. Here they are on an early Bronco...

I think I'm leaning more and more toward the FJ mirrors too. Probably won't get to dig into it until Jan/Feb

I got the FJC mirrors for xmas. Black plastic, with the light. They claim to be heated, but there are no wires for heat and from what I can tell from other forum discussion that heat function is a joke -- somehow it's supposed to channel warm air from inside the rig up to the mirror. Maybe I'm wrong, but I can't find anything else on it.

I have too many other projects right now on the rig to dive into this one. I'll pick it up in a few months.

The FJC mirrors are finally on! I still have to wire them up but love the way they look. Big thanks to Mike Hogan of District Fabrication for fabbing the brackets to mount the PIAA lights and for leading the the install.

Hi Stanz. I am late to the dance, but I wanted to say that the mirrors look great! I am contemplating the same upgrade and was wondering how you have liked/disliked the mirrors since they've been on for a few months. Thanks!
