well fall is here . took the ol' girl out for her last drive of the season ... it was a beautiful day .
topped off the fuel tank and added some stabalizer and blanketed her for the cold with her cover . Off to her cave she goes for hybernation till spring .
Man, I love how the red on the ole girl shines! It's like it has a slight sparkle to it with a brilliant glow! I'm usually not a big fan of metallic paints on older vehicles, but I don't think you could have picked a more perfect color for the Trekker! Plus red on these trucks really turns heads. My friends all tried to talk me out of red when I was deciding what color to paint my truck, but I am SOOOOO glad that I went with red - it never gets lost in a crowd and I love getting stared at rolling down the road. I've driven around is some pretty nice and very unique vehicles before and I have never turned as many heads (or had as many pictures taken) as I have in my pickup! Have a good winter ole girl and we'll see you in the spring!!

That extended cab looks pretty cherry! Any hidden issues? What are the plans for it??
Thanks Dave .. believe it or not , after 5 years the paint has dulled a bit . + it now has some swirl marks .. so when she wakes up next spring , I'm gonna polish it back up to new , also got some more shiny powder coated pieces for her as well .
The black one was a customers truck I built for her 11 or 12 years ago . it's been VERY well looked after on top and inside , unfortunately for her , she didn't look after the underside . The frame by the rear spring front mount has almost broken in 1/2 . The people who looked at it for her , yanked the tank out , and butchered the harness , fuel lines , and also the brake lines and even the tail lamp wiring .. they said it was un drivable , and it is , but really extreme measures they took I think .. no matter , it's pretty rusted anyway , and I will replace them . Tank was out , so I wasn't even sure it was running .. but installed it back in place , just to get it running , and YEAH .. it runs like a champ . very happy about that !!
so lots of people have said I should do a back to the future truck , but I'm not very excited to do that , so I don't know what I want to do with it yet .. I'm in no rush lots of things to do in the mean time... I am looking for a frame though , so we'll see .
got the other truck running today as well .. man it just purrrrrrs .. really happy with that as well ... good day today
The black truck looks great. Not sure if shipping a frame is feasible, but in my friends list, Tom70x7 has a great frame, it is an 86 or 87 extra cab frame with a clean title. He also has a solid cab and bed if you are interested. He is located in central Arkansas.
As for me, I have been on the hunt for an 89-95 extended cab and frame, those are about as hard to find as well. Great score for you.
I think I have found a frame .. but thanks ..
I'm in no rush at all , just funny how things seem to come available as you need them . I'm smokin' busy with customer stuff so there is no rush on that project
Just finished the read, took a couple days. And wow! It turned out incredible!
I know this started years ago, but towards the end you are talking about selling, is that still the case? And are 1st gen cabs and Trekker tubs still in the works?

Great build again, and thanks for sharing!
thanks , glad you enjoyed the read ..
Yes , I would sell . I have had multiple offers but only 1 that was even close to the # I would let her go for . we we're still 2G away from my bottom , so I didn't let it go .
I don't have to sell , so not interested in any "low balls"
YES , still working on the cab and back 1/2 for the trekker .. but , the biggest problem right now , is , I'm looking to expand .. I looking for employees , and I'm BOOKED for a year and 1/2 ..
so , I haven't had a lot of time to work on any NEW products
Such great information here.Without this and the other builds posted on this site, the 82 pickup I'm working on wouldn't have even got started. I really liked the idea of cutting and covering the vents...so I did it. And as I was tacking the second patch in place i realized that the windshield washer spray jets were under there. I was thinking that I'd scavenge a set from an old 4Runner I have and mount them in the hood. I'm curious to know what you did. I've looked at many pictures of your truck and can't seem to find them. Thanks for all your builds that you've posted and the work that you do.

Thanks .. glad you have enjoyed the read and info ... what I did is there , I know there is a lot of info here , even took me a bit to find it ..
Damn, thought I checked everywhere. My girlfriend always says I'm a terrible looker - guess she's right. Thanks for pointing me in the right direction.
sent the trekker Next door for a polish ..
5th year , and paint wasn't bad , just lacking a little luster . Engine was also "dusty" I wanted it clean ...
and she's now ready for this years car show season
It's always a pleasure to see pix of your Trekker. When I saw you had updated the thread I feared you were putting it up for sale.
it is for sale , as everything is .
I get offers all the time , but I don't have to sell , so I'm not interested in "low balls" , it is a 1 of a kind ! .. obviously no one has stepped up and I don't mind driving it
