ok i got many of questions, and prob will as im about to encounter a mess of new things, did you swap frames or swap motors, im about to purchase an 80 pickup that the PO had started an 3.4 swap, im not sure what all has to be done as far as swapping parts goes, for me it will be the wiring, also, does the speedo have to be out of a manaul runner bc im useing a manaual tranny or can it be an auto? like i said, im gonna have alot of questions on this one, thanks a bunch!

page 3 will explain the engine mounting .. as for the dash cluster , you can stay with the stock 79-83 cluster if you want .. I wanted to "update" the interior so I used the 1999 4runner manual cluster as I had the whole front clip , but I had to "redo" the whole dash , the cluster does not "just fit"

did you do any wiring diagrams, just sold my first toyota, my 87 short bed reg cab that i built up, from motor to front end, god this is gonna be a roguh night, but its all for the 80 i found with an uncompleted 3.4 swap! id be intrested in knwoing the wiring because thats all i really need! did you use a manaul ecu or do the auto ecu thinking its in neutral?

No wiring diagrams .. I used the 1999 wire harness, Manual tranny and body computers along with the dash cluster , and modified them . I wanted to upgrade the original 30 year old harness as it was old and brittle , so basically , I made my own harness (pg34)

I guess have to fix the index on the front page ... it not correct anymore as some posts have been deleted .

anyway .. you can use the original truck harness , and it's not even that bad of job to do , your USA trucks even have the speed sensors in your clusters , although I'm not positive on your /80 , so an EFI relay and circut opening relay should be all you need .. have a look at some 22RE swaps , and they might help you with wiring as well

Gorgeous rig, phenomenal thread. Just spent several hours reading end to end. Much respect on all counts. I love the profile of the rear end on that thing - amongst many other very noteworthy points. Will be looking for other/future builds. Thread read like a good book, didn't want to put it down till I was finished. Glad i came round late in the game and got to avoid the anticipation of more pics/info

yep .. we can do them pretty much any color , camo , mossy oak ..ect ..
it's a big wide world of camo though , you will need to be EXACT , or let us "fly" with it , and match your paint to the stripes ..

email me please cj@toyotafiberglass.com
