so .. no luck on the supercharger just yet ... I searched all the dealers in Canada , and because the engine is 8 years old now .. no dealer has this piece in stock .

so I am going to hold off for now , and hope TRD and Toyota Canada can sort out there differences ??

Cha ching wow looks like a great project. Having a shop has it perks eh.
But seriously awesome rig. It took a while to read but very worth it. If I had the time and a shop I'd do the same thing.

Wow, I just spent an hour reading this! And I gotta say, I can't way til the days when I can afford the parts and tools for this sort of project! I'm personally looking forward to what you do with the Trekker part of this.

Are you using original interior parts and electrical (i.e. gauges, steering wheel, seats)? I'm a bit partial to the "old school" Toyota look, but am totally digging that 5vz. Can't wait to see how she performs!

thanks .. and I cant wait to get it running and supercharged

I have a few exterior "mods" planed .. as well as interior .. I dont want to let to much out of the bag , but i'm thinking red exterior , tan leather interior , with maybe some "axe"cents"

about all I can say for now ....

Just stumbled along this build tonight, read every single post... felt like I was watching a build on tv... kinda wish I had waited a bit longer to find it, cause now I'm stuck waiting on updates like all of you have been this year.

As for the supercharger, I did a quick search and found this...

glad you have enjoyed the post ... and thank you for the link .. Unfortunatly , for me to bring one up from the states , It will add about a grand to the cost , so i'm just going to wait .

Toyota Canada , and Toyota USA are talking .. yes I said Toyota USA not TRD , because 2 years ago TRD was bought by Toyota USA , and there "apparrently" lies the problem .. Toyota USA is "reviewing" it's policies on selling TRD into Canada ..

started to tear down the original Truck today .. finally .......

got it up to the bay doors .. My son , and his buddys started to clean out the rear .. lots of crap stored in there ..

and cleaned out ..

I was very anxious to see the condition of the rear seat , so that was second on the list ..

I was at the front , and was looking at the front passenger seat , and noticed a leaver .. so I pulled it , and to my surprise .. COOL the seat flips forward , to allow the rear passengers room to get in

you can also see the backs of the front seats are covered .. and also , with the seat folded flat , you can see it makes the floor flat .. this is the "Q" for the seat deleate panel in the 84-89's , how cool is that !!!!

I had Brayden jump in , and I had him pull up the seat ..

It's absolutly perfect .. no rips , tears .. nothing .. only the seat belt impressions .. other then the rust on the steel , it's an absolutly awesome shape ..

and from the back (seat folded up )

how cool is that ?

so continuing on ...
the boys got the windows out

and that was about it for them ..
I "cut" out the roll bar , as the one side was rusted completly threw

and then had to grind the bolts off the trim panel , to start the interior strip .

once I got those off , I could pull out the sides , and the headliner ..

and thats it for today ...

.
