I wish you could head down here for a cab. They come up all the time. Last week I saw 3 good cabs in the junkyard....not sure about getting one north of the border though.
I'd drive down in a second .. I'm not that far away .. BUT the
thing is .. I want the factory sun roof .. thats the issue ..

a couple questions...what do you use to acid dip? how long do you dip it?

what do you use to zinc coat? is it a spray can style?

how resilient is the por-15 to rock and metal knicks compared to spray paint?

acid is hydrafloric .. you can get it threw any auto detail supply company .. depending on the mix , ( I mix ~10:1 ) and the size piece your dipping , sometimes 1/2 hour , to overnight .. works great .
wahs with water , and dry , and zinc right away . The zinc chromate is "weld threw primer" avaliable at any welding supply , or auto parts store , and it's the best primer for bare metal there is .and yes rattle can .

POR is a rust treatment .. depending on the way you apply , is the "reziliant " coating you will get . I suggest reading the info on there site .

thanks for the heads up. i've read through por-15's material on their site a couple times over the last couple months. i understand its rust preventative properties, i was just curious in your experience on how well it adheres to parts (i.e. frame, axles, springs, etc). you're using it everywhere, so you must like the stuff for longevity...from that would it be safe to infer that it adheres pretty well?

I guess I should be more carefull about answering peoples questions about stuff like that .. sometimes I forget not all have experiance using chemicals ..

this stuff is DANGEROUS ... and upmost care should be taken in handeling , this is shop use only stuff .
protective clothing , as well as resperator MUST BE USED !
