S video TV monitor

I have an S video out on my ati 9800 xt and a S video imput on the tv, however as soon as i plug in the cable into the tv it gets kinda fuzy, like bad reception. When i put my desktop on the tv the same thing happens.

Can i clear this up at all?

im no computer guy.. so maybe this is jsut a bump for you...

but i know that tvs use a differnt frame speed then a computer... that said... even though they hook up.. they might need a program? to make the wavelengths compatible...

I would try;

replace the s-vhs cable between the ATI video card and TV
verify the configuration in Windows for the TV as a monitor

FYI: TV's have a far lower resolution than computer monitors. I often have to set my TV monitor resolution to 800x600 to see a difference. Good luck

You might have to tell the video card that you are using the s-video output.

One turn the computer and the tv off

two plug the s-video in

three turn everything on

four on the computer right click on your desktop and go to properties. your in your dispay settings

five go to the setting tab, advanced , then monitors and hit the tv button
your tv should now show what on your screen. Some of the older video cards you had to play with the resolution to get it to fit your screen right but that one shouldn't, course you could just fork out the 2 grand for an hd plasma and use the monitor out

TV can't handle the Frequency pushing out the port lower the resolution say start with 800X600 only down side to using the S-video out, well other than picture quality is still pretty bad but depends on what your plans are
I use DVI out to my Bigscreen and run 1024X768 and I can actually read things fine unlike on S-video, its still just to blury to read text.
