Microsoft Net Framework messing with auto log on

On the ATI website, they have two sets of drivers always to choose from.
http://www.ati.com/

A small package, and a bigger one.
To install the bigger one, they require you to download the MS Net Framework.
http://www.microsoft.com/downloads/d...displaylang=en

I installed it, as the next ATI upgrade I want to try the bigger driver package.

Now here is the problem.
After installing the MS software, I get the log in screen at boot up and I must choose my profile which is the only one on the machine.

I went into Tweak UIs settings and under the auto login feature I put a checkmark next to my name to auto log me in, just like before.

This works for a few reboots, but then it becomes unchecked, and I get the stupid log in screen again.

Is anyone aware of a fix for this other than taking off the frickin' MS software?
Looks like it is buggy.

Finding fix

Several ways to combat this, researching now...

Google to the rescue

UPDATE.
Found on the above page a link to MS's site:
http://support.microsoft.com/?kbid=827072

They say you need a service pack for the software I installed.
Sure enough, I clicked on Windows Update from the Start Menu, and I had one update waiting for me.

This service pack to the software fixed my auto log on.
