Doom 3
Anybody else playing this yet? This has to be the best game I've ever played, graphics are amazing, also a very scary game. Playing at night with the lights out I've nearly jumped out of my chair several times.

I went to best buy today and I wanted to pick it up for the XBox. They didnt have it, I dunno if its not out yet or what. I went over to look at it for the PC but the requirments scared me.
I have a P4 2.0 GHZ
512 Ram
Geforce3 video card
You think my system will be underpowered for the job? What are the specs on your guys computers and how does it run?

Glad to hear it runs good Bill.
I am running the 9600 Pro, and run all my games at 1024x768.
Hopefully it will run good on my system.
Have you tried multiplayer?
That is what I am into most.
I don't play much single player of any game.
I'd love to host next weekend, but it seems my Toshiba cable modem is not compatible anymore with Comcast here since they upgraded their system last week.
Darn modem cuts in and out due to it not liking the new signal.
Gonna have to either buy a Motorola Surfboard 5100, or rent the same unit for $3 a month.

Download this benchmark and if you get above 1200 (best scenario would be 1500 or more) you should be ok otherwise look for a replacement (I would lean toward the Radeon right now for max capability:
http://www.we-dare.nl/modules.php?mo...ark&download=3
These would be typical scores on 3Dmark 2003:
GF3Ti200 - 1100
GF4Ti4600 - 1500

If you can run the entire benchmark and the frames never drop below 30 you are set for Doom 3.
My darn Radeon 9000 only gets me 1050 on 3Dmark 2003.
I would love to get a 9800 Pro if they drop a bit more in price.
