This one is from my laptop, in the same room as my previous test (desktop). This one uses Vista, I wonder if that makes a whole lot of difference...

Hmmmm ....

Using Denver server

Using Colorado Springs

New Zealand

Through the wireless though ... wonder if that's limiting it

Which wireless format are you on TC?
I use G here.

My laptop gets about the same speed as the desktops.
The laptop is the only one wireless at the time, the other PCs are on CAT5.

However I am getting even faster results now, in the 20s for download.

It is set for "both g and b"

DSL, though, and don't recall which "speed" I got ... I know it's plenty fast enough for me.

My upload has doubled.
On a higher plan for three months free from Comcast.
The download was the six megabit package, and I am up to eight now, but as you can see by the tests, it is always higher like around 25 megabit.

I also use this site to check the speeds too.
They are normally a little lower.
It all depends on the way you are routed to the server.

http://www.speakeasy.net/speedtest/

Last Result:
Download Speed: 25552 kbps (3194 KB/sec transfer rate)
Upload Speed: 3037 kbps (379.6 KB/sec transfer rate)

Here is an old test for comparison from October of '06.
My upload back then was low.

Good gosh, look at my Boeing connection

Boeing

The download is equal to my Comcast home service, but the upload at Boeing is off the charts

From the laptop which is on wireless G which is slower than my gaming PC which is on cat 5 to the router.

I get around 29k down (29 megabit on an 8 megabit account, that high number is the Speedboost technology kicking in) on both test with my gaming PC.

Last Result:
Download Speed: 20044 kbps (2505.5 KB/sec transfer rate)
Upload Speed: 2977 kbps (372.1 KB/sec transfer rate)
From Seattle's test at
http://www.speakeasy.net/speedtest/

To Lynnwood using the one from Speedtest.net
