alright I just rebuilt myself a computer and I have rebuilt it with all the good parts that I have...

well I have 2 40 gig hard drives... how ever when I reformated the computer I deleted all particitions on the hard drives and loaded XP Pro on to my Main Hard drive (other is to be used for Music and Videos)...

However in "My computer" I can't find the hard drive... but in "Device Manager" it shows the 2nd harddrive working properly...

How do I get the harddrive to apprear in my computer?

 

do you have the jumper settings correct.

you have to make one master(the one with the OS) and the other one slave

BTW, whats the manuf. of ur harddrives?

 

The drive most likely isn't formatted.

Right click on "My Computer", click "Manage", then "Disk Management". If the second drive doesn't show up there, then it's a hardware issue. If it does, right click on it and choose "Format", then you can probably go from there.

 

Did you create a partition (and format it) on the 2nd drive? You do that in Disk Manager, which can be found:oops.. Chris beat me to it.

 

is there already stuff on the sencondary hard drive(s)? were you ever able to see the hard drives before you reformated?
