*INSTALL DONE, THANKS* just got a CB...

Well, I just picked up a CB. It's a Midland 40-channel digital. Where have you guys mounted yours? This one's only like 4.5" wide. Here's a pic:

Also, where did you guys with 4Runners mount your antennas? I would like to mount it on the rear bumper. Thanks for any help you can provide.

Yeah, that's where I would like to put it. I just wasn't sure if it would fit or not. I'll have to go measure it today.

It should fit. You might have to cut the back off where the ash tray sits. it will look real clean.

I did the ashtray thing. You will have to cut out the plastic at the back of the opening and you will probably need an elbow for the coax at the back of the CB. I used velcro to stick it in place but the sticky back lets go when it gets too hot.

Picture of the elbow.

That's where I'm gonna try and mount mine too. How wide is your CB? Also, how did you go about mounting the antenna? Thanks!

I don't know the measurement but my CB (cobra) is exactly the same width as the opening. It's a tight fit. I ran the coax through a hole in the firewall just above the gas pedal. I don't know what the hole is for, it just had a plastic plug in it. I cut an X opening in it and ran the coax through. So don't solder the end on until you've run the cable. My antenna is mounted on a ARB bracket on my bull bar. Also, I got the elbow from Radio Shack. Good luck.

Here's a pic of the install. I'll post pics of the antenna install once it's done.
