cb radio extension cable?

I've been looking online for an extension cable to my cb radio antenna. The only place I can find them is ebay. I know coax cables are a "leaky" cable and probably shouldn't be extended, but does anyone know where to buy an extension cable? Are there different types of ends (besides male/female connectors) ?

How long does it need to be? Just get one built locally or try your local Radio Shack.

It doesn't need to be much longer, just another 4 feet, if even that long. The local radio shack is more of a phone and toy store now. They don't even carry most electrical components anymore. I'll try the other (bigger) radio shacks outside of town and see what they have.

I'd get a whole new cable the length you need instead of extending it.

Got to be some CB places online besides fleabay.

if you're looking for something pretty long, you might want to check out RG-8X or RG-8U coax with a good PL-259 connector. as far as cable losses go, they're some of the least "lossy" coax available w/o getting into the transmission line cables that the keydown folks use. they'll take a good deal of power and get it to the antenna.

you can buy it in whatever length you need and just solder your own PL-259 connectors on the ends.
