CB compatibility with stock radios

Alright, this is a bit of a newbie question, but here goes: Is it possible to utilize a CB antennae for common radio purposes?

Since I am going with fiberglass fenders, the stock antennae has to go.. and I am exploring my options here. Would it be easier to just hunt down the cheapest whip I can find and bolt it down in some odd position? I just somehow doubt that it is that easy... Any ideas? If it is possible, I will contact that guy on the other thread who wants to ditch his Firestick.

Thanks for reading.
