Bluetooth GPS

I'm looking for a good Bluetooth GPS unit for a wireless link to my laptop computer. Would like to know if they can work continuously from the 12v plug, or need to be charged regularly.

That's a nice looking GPS.

Delorme has a bluetooth GPS mouse too.
I've used their wired version and software for years and love it.
However, I believe it only runs from a battery, maybe even AA's, but I could be wrong.

I'm running tomtom for palm (package came with the bt gps rec'vr + palm zire 72; but i'm running the s/w on my treo 650)

I highly recommend tomtom -- for street driving. the maps are not much help away from surface streets (i.e. off-road)

The rec'vr does send standard gps coords via bt to whatever's listening. I've successfully connected it to my laptop and run some simple gps s/w.

Dunno if you're looking for *serious* gps tracking (topo maps, etc.) but there were a couple of threads on ttora.com on this subject. Here's a quick link to search results for "gps laptop" http://ttora.com/forum/search.php?searchid=484118

re: charging... I think the info that came w/ my bt rec'vr said 9hrs per charge. I've used it 'walking around' in the city just for kicks, and had not problems. The farthest I've driven w/out charging is Palo Alto to Tahoe (4 hrs or so; forgot to plug it in) and it did fine.

If interested, I have a BlueTooth adapter for any of the Garmin 4-pin data port GPS R-series. Plugs into the GPS, supplies it with power and the BT data communications link. Paid $75 for it, will sell for $50. I decided to just go with a hardwired USB-Serial port connection on mine, my laptop doesn't have built-in BT, so it is either plug in the USB cable or the USB-BT adapter.
