not sure how good your with wood work but you can build your own box cheaper i paid a little over $500 for mine would of saved a few if i knew how to build a sub box but for the price it sounds good and gets loud

Elton is definitely ALL OVER THE PLACE!

But what he said is right. It will depend a lot on what kind of sub you go with too...each has a recommended box and space requirement. Find a sub that fits your budget, read about it, find the box for it and then tune it to your liking.

I would recommend the entire Sony XPlode line. I got a 1200 watt amp, with two 1200 watt subs and the Xplode cab speakers. I really like them.

I'm running a single DVC Infinity 10" in a sealed box I purchased from the evil empire for $25.

I have since trimmed the top of the box and recessed it into the cabinet. It sounds phenominal. I listed to rock and electronic.

I am running a w7 now and had one before that was stolen. Had both sealed and vented. My recommendation is a vented... mine is tuned to 32 HZ and sounds absolutely amazing IMO. Let us know what you end up doing!

You may find 1 12" good. It just depends on what you define as "loud". I define loud as the point when you say, "I cant listen to this at any higher of a volume" and the volume is only at 75%

I have a JL 10w3v2 in my 4runner right now and that is what I would define as clean and kinda loud. I have my 2nd 10" on the way. That should be killer.

Keep in mind. People like to steal nice subwoofers. As TRDatVT said, he had his W7 stolen... those are some nice subs. Buy wisely and good luck.

Sheesh I wish I could get a W7. But if you do go with the W7 I would have it in a sealed box. Get the right amp for it too, gotta do your hw because it will pay off trust me. You can find good deals on amps and such.
