Has anyone tried using an one of those impact drivers you hit with a hammer to get out the screws in the "wife" handles?

Sounds like a good idea?
I think those holes are for the body mount bolts? I could be wrong though. I would not cover them with anything, just tape them off so you dont seal them with the paint.

Long term results???

OK, let me resurrect this thread. How has the PNS been working for y'all. How about the 2ndSkin stuff? How about the HTM? Bob? BumpinYota? JW? Axo? Keisur? Who's had stuff fall out or peel off on them? What would you do differently now?

TIA

2nd Skin has been holding up very well, despite the extreme heat part of the year. It has been through two summers and is staying in place. Also -- no smell from the goo when it heats up.

I have no illusions of going to the extent that you did. I'll probably just pop off the rear panels and door panels and deaden it a little. Was going to run over to the local Lowes and get some PNS if that works well and holds up. I've already stuffed one (old) pillow in each side panel. That helped some with the "boomy" sound I was getting from the rear speakers.

I have some tarry ooze near some of the carpet edges in the cargo area and in other places but it doesn't get on anything. it's mainly because it gets so hot inside my black paint though. other than that, my PNS works pretty well, hehe.

Bob, I looked through the thread and could not find the final expense report.

What did it end up costing you in the end?

SecondSkinAudio discount

Got email from Anthony, the owner of SecondSkinAudio.com. He said that YT members get a 10% discount from him. You may need to email or call him to find out how to do that.

20% if you join his forum. 25% after 1000 posts on his forum.

I bought 80 Sq. Ft. of Damplifier Pro and 100 Sq. Ft. of Damplifier when he just first started his company up. It was an even $500. Not sure if the S&H was included.

Resurrecting old thread, if only for a minute: One thing I didn't see mentioned is the old spray-on rubberized undercoating. Haynes body manual says it works better for sound deadening than actually protecting the body. Anybody ever try it?

i found a quick and easy solution...... foam ear plugs. but it only works well when im by myself in the car. j/k i did the peel and seal on the tailgate, rear fenders, all 4door pannels, and fender wells. my next step is to buy more peel and seal im going to do the firewall (inside) and on the floor. i need to replace that bushing for the steering column and fix the batched clutch master mount. the po that did the 5 speed swap cut the hole too big in the firewall. so im going to try and fix that with something not sure yet. after i do the peel and seal i think ill try some closed cell foam on the doors and roof. little by little its comming along.

Didn't read the entire thread, but Elemental Designs' "e Dead" is much cheaper than Dynamat and works just as well. They have a few different weights IIRC. I did my entire Taco cab including the roof. It helped road noise - and my subs are cleaner than ever (slightly less volume at certain frequencies - but that's because the cab is "deader" and isn't re-enforcing the frequencies it used to "ring/resonate" at )

eDead/Dynamat will destroy rubberized undercoating with regard to acoustic performance...
