Unhappy short in speaker wiring

Hi! to all 'yota enthusiasts,
I've got a problem I hope you all can help me with: I've been noticing a buzzing sound coming from the passenger side in dash speaker during play.
During a speaker upgrade I discovered that the terminals had gotten pretty heated & that the wires going to the speaker enclosure had gotten hot as well, evident by the wire casing looking melted. I've searched through the site w/no luck(perhaps I'm not looking in the right thread/place), so i'm hoping that someone out there in 'yota land can help w/some ideas about the cause & solution.
Thanx! in advance for any & all,
grlrunner

Check and re check your wiriing. Also make sure you running compatable ohlm loads. 2 is not compatable with the standarded deck power of 4 ohlms. If your using you stock wires, I might recomend redoing the older thinner wires for new ones. That way you can ensure that everything is running pefectly. Then you can narrow the porblomes down to either the speaker, headunit, or amp

Hi Bigkahuna808!,
I'm using the stock radio & hookups, I've merely replaced the stock 4" speakers w/a pair of 4 ohm, 4" Polk's that fit right into the stock enclosures in the front. The only mod done to the system is my tying into the existing wiring harness in the rear speaker enclosures w/a "PAC line converter" so that I could send a signal to the amp for the sub that i put in the back, otherwise, everything is stock...any other ideas???

Check the LOC converters, thats the RCA adapeters. They have been known to create problomes before. Make sure nothing is crossed. Also I recomend only using the LOC to run the amp, and dont run rear channels. What are you using the amp for>
