In rig iPod dock...

I just got one of the new 20gig iPods for my b-day and would like to make a dock to play it through the rigs stereo. To do this I have 2 ideas:

Idea #1: Make or buy a holder for the iPod, hardwire a car charger to power the iPod and use the FM transmitter to play it through the radio.

Idea #2: Use the home stereo connection kit that plugs into your reciever with RCA plugs, hardwire a car charger to power it and make a mount for the dock.

I like both options, idea #1 because you could use it in more than 1 vehicle. Idea #2 because I think it would look cleaner and have better sound quality.
What do you think?
Thanks

For a mount, check out this option. Fairly cheap and very solid, no movement at all.

I like this mount, I think I will get one for my GPS.
Mount

For the iPod I think I will make a custom mount to mount the dock to so I can just slide the iPod into the dock, no fumbling with cables and stuff.
Thanks

Old, I know. But I just swapped from my Belkin cable to one of these. http://sik.com/imp.php The difference is night and day! I highly recommend it. I installed a cigarette lighter under the shifter panel to power it all. The whole thing is stealth.
