Sorry I should have been more specific. I'm inquiring about subs behind the seats.

Hey cruizin i have a question i was wondering i you could help me with. i just installed some kenwood 6.5''s in my doors of my standard cab, and for some reason i am getting a really annoying noise through the speakers if there is much bass in a song at all. i was wondering how you did your speakers. Did you use the factory wiring or run new wires for your setup.

I used to have a 91 toyota pickup with a custom made box that fit two-10s behind the seat.

Those are crossovers for his components that he has in the doors.

are those needed to run those door speakers with the sub and amp, or does that just make the door speakers sound better?

im going to replace my door speakers and put a 8 or 10 behind the seat with a amp mounted under the seat, and am curious to know if the cross-overs are needed or just make for a better sounding set-up.

also, does anyone think that running the 6.5's and tweeters in the doors, with a sub in the back, AND running the little speakers in the dash would sound good, or would i just be wasting money for the dash speakers? would they produce a better sound with the combination?

sorry im slow, anyway carose im not real sure about your "noise" that could be several different things. Could be from the speakers themselves, or the HU, or the install...Might try leaving the speaker wired up but separate it from the door.

Bikeman is right those are my crossovers for my speakers in the door. Those are necissary for separating the frequencies between the midbass and the tweeter. They have nothing to do with the subwoofer. The boston crossovers are quite large compared to most. The peice in the middle of the two is just a knukonceptz voltmeter. Not required my any means but kinda cool. I would do anyway with the dash speakers and just stick with the door speakers. Best advise I can give you is dont buy too big of a subwoofer and put it in too small of a box. Ive done that twice now. I dont know what kinda of sound your looking for but if your gonna buy some components spend the money on some good ones and get a decent amp. If you have the time I sound deadoned(sp?) the crap out of my doors. Made a big difference. Anyother questions let me know. Im no expert but ive been around.

thanks for the info. i don't need a large sub, just want to have a better sounding system, but not extravagent. i don't need to blow my neighbors away! im just looking for a good sound all around, i listen to mostly country, so bass isn't very important. im just looking for a decent set of 6.5's and tweeters, with a amp and sub. i have a question, i don't know anything about stereos or speakers, but theres another member on here selling his sub and amp. i'll post the link to the thread, but could you tell me if this is something that would work well for me? im thinking about purchasing them from him, but would like to know if this is what im looking for? https://www.yotatech.com/forums/showthread.php?t=42300
