Yes, the Radio pluged right in. The side plate screws fit.

i just received the same/similar scion headunit.

i had to cut the trim surrounding the radio... the 2k stock radio/cd/tape from my wife's 4runner fit fine but the scion's face is MUCH bigger.

my question to you is - how did you secure/screw in the radio?

the scion's face is soooooo big i can't get to the screw holes.

i'm thinking about zip tying the bottom if i can get to them.

I put an FJ Cruiser head unit in my 4Runner. I believe it is the same size as the Scion unit. To screw it in I had a very thin long screwdriver and pre-placed the 4 screws in the brackets of the unit. I gently slid the unit in place making sure the screws didn't fall out. Because the bottom part of box is slightly flexable I was able to get the 2 bottom screws to screw in and seat normally. The upper screws would only go in at an angle (out to in) and did not seat, but held. I wasn't worried as the upper part of the bracket hangs on plastic posts. I figured between the angled screws and the outer plastic trim part the unit would be held tightly in place. Despite a mile long bumpy gravel road to get to my house so far the unit sounds great and has had no issues with maintaining a secure fit.

the older 2000 headunit from my wife's 4runner, that i am replacing, was only secured using the 2 bottom screws and the trim piece kept it in place, too.

so, i just need to get the 2 bottom screws in there.

well, got the scion head unit in there.

there was no way i was going to be able to get a screw driver in there.

i decided to remove the radio's face trim... little did i know it was the entire face of the radio! once the face/trim was removed i was able to set the bottom two screws. the radio trim keeps every thing in place.

so, here is a pic of the radio in place:
