Send all you music and pictures and movies to your car via WI-Fi to your car (depending on model).

I have no use for an Ipod outside of my trucks, so this may be the new option for both. I need to do some more research and find out if I can use my own HD or not. I need to hold 117 gigs of music at this point, and the 4puter mod was sounding good, but that would only be in the Taco.

I'm not understanding the car either......unless there's a hard drive in the car that you're downloading music to otherwise I would think it would only work in the driveway also

Yea, it'll only work within the range of the Wi-Fi, which isn't that far. Then it would be back to your ipod. The 4puter mod is the best bet if you want to have hundreds of gigs of music avaliable at all times.

There is a hard drive in the car, the WiFi adapter connects to the in-house computer and acts like an external hard drive....drag and drop your MP3's files to the car.

Looks like you will have to purchase the car equipment separately though.

Yup... 117 just of music. Between CD's I uploaded to my HD and struff from the net, it added up quick (4 years) I have about 15 left on one of them, but it'll be time for a 500 gig external soon.

There is a ton of free legal electronic music here. http://music.globalbeatz.net/dj-mix-mp3

From what I gather, you send the info to a hard drive in your car/truck.
Then you play it from there. I just need the flexibility of being able to choose any size hard drive I want. I don't want to be stuck with something they sell with ~80 gigs.

I'd rather have every song and CD on my computer in the car than just bits and pieces. Burning CD's isn't cool anymore, too much work involved, and they get damaged and lost. And the fact that when I get something new, I can just send it to my truck.

My WI-FI connection will work fine since I get service in my truck.

Been kinda busy and haven't looked much more into this since I posted, but the time shall come. Been getting pieces for a system for the XR together .

EDIT: plus I can get music from anyone with a WI-FI when I go visit, just park out front and the library keeps growing. I wonder how RIAA would take this technology.

Hummmm...

That really sucks.

I would really really like something with a lot more capacity.

I still never figured out how burn a full downloaded CD with the cue files to break up the songs into individual tracks, so that is why I am exploring these options. It sucks to hold the fast forward button down if you want to listen to a certain part at the middle or end of a CD.

None of the 3 radios (stock 4R, OEM NAV, stock XR) will let you rewind into a cd from the end like on my home CD player.
