New Stereo Installed w/ PICS & other mods

I have finally got all my interior mods including the stereo upgrade done. I swapped out the kicker l7 with a Boston 10.5 Pro Sub. I changed out the old MB quart PSD's with some new Boston Z's. I added the KnuKonceptz distribution block with LED readout. I second skinned' the crap out of the doors and built new mounts for the speakers. I dicided to use the Z's as a coax as trucks have poor imaging anyway and I didn't feel like cutting up my new door panels. The door panels are covered in tweed. I cut out the factory speaker grille and fabbed in a mtx grille, the boston emblem fit it perfectly. If I had it to do it again Id make the tweed match the okole's a little better but I did them before I baught the covers.

Anyway about the speaker upgrade, it was totally worth it. The Z's are AWESOME. The midbass is unbelieveable. They pound the door panel like crazy. I guess that makes sense seeming as how they are seeing about 250 watts rms per side The detail is so incredible, songs dont even sound the same as they do with a lesser system. The sub has a ton better SQ than the kicker did with little loss in spl. For anyone who is interested the components go for about $1000, and the sub was like $300.

I installed the power door locks in the door also. Took a little figuring to get them installed but they work well now. I have them hooked up to a crimestopper alarm so I have keyless entry also. I wired in a magnetic switch to the slider so if it gets opened when the alarm is armed it will set the alarm off. Overall Im happy with everything Ive done. Let me know your opinions

I figured you had a tacoma soon as I seen your setup. Awsome job on the door panels. Where did you get all the sound deading materal from? I need some my Dimaond Hexs dont sound the best without it.

How are the Boston Seperates. I personally never heard the "z"s. I used to have the rallys untill I upgraded to the HExs. Any problomes with the voltage on your truck. When I slam my sounds, the voltage goes down. But read my sig, if you want to know my setup. Anyways props to you good job on the setup

Thanks for the compliments guys. I have alot of time invested in it. I know not everyone will like it but atleast its something different and I can say I did all the work.

The sound deadner is www.secondskinaudio.com email them and tell them u are a forum member and you can get 40% off with free shipping. Its the best deal around. The Z's are night and day difference from the $500 quarts I had. I dont really have anyone around me that has anything high-end to compare them to but they are the best components Ive ever heard.

I just got no money for that with doing my lift recently. I have done getto sound deading on other car (ie a '92 civic hatchback). I used that foam padding that goes below house carpets. That ugly thick mulit color thing. With idustrial stregnth spray glue from 3m. Bur im afraid to use thie becuase of the firehazard.

That is the factory door panel. Basically I just recovered it with the tweed material. I did cut out the plastic grille that was built into the door panel and mount the aftermarket grille. If I get bored with it sometime I might redo the gray part and try to add some flames or something. Who knows

Looks good. I like the box and the amp mounting. Did you make that yourself?

Looks great. Nice job with the wiring. I hate to see all the bundles of wire when someone doesn't know what they're doing (or doesn't care) and leaves everything exposed. I bet it sounds great. I recently put a Clarion DXZ745MP head unit with new RF components and a Viper DVC 12 on 170W amp. Much better than my stock tin can and that Viper 12 HITS...

Yeah I did everything myself. I made the box a year or two ago but added the portion for the crossovers and the dist. block when I upgraded.

The tweed came from a local shop that does upholstery and what not. It was like $20/yard or something close to that. I might try to do a few more peices down that road. Its not too bad to work with if you take your time and make sure you clean the surfaces well.

WOW what an interior. I'm jealous. My door panels are so trashed from all the cutting i've done, all my stupid push-pin things are broken, half the clips are broken, and they get rattled by my kappas. .

Great looking truck.
