I know nothing about competition. I did this for my own enjoyment, but I wouldn't mind learning more about competition. Do you have the time to help a n00bie out?

Oh, and I'm running DD 3512's. This is the closest picture I could get of them from Digital Design's website
I have the same sub, but mine have a triple magnet stack instead of the double stack (pictured).

How are thoes mid basses. I wanted them for a while, everyone told me to keep my Diamond Hexs. I loved my DD 3512 it kick @$$ and put many people to shame here in hawaii. Now Im no longer running DDs, Im building a new setup, and going to loose my whole trunk. But that is a very very nice setup. Im just wondering how you built it to specs with the proper vent in such a tight area. My DD 3512 vented comp box took up almost 1/2 of my trunk. I love that setup, wish I could hear it.
BTW are they the new 3500 "D" series?

NisAznMonk - nice clean install, I like it a LOT! Did you DIY? Are you sure those are 3512s? To my knowledge DD has never made a triple slug 3512. You sure those aren't 9512s? The huge CF dustcap also points at the 9500 series. If you can get me a pics of the sub's motor I could tell ya for sure what motor those subs have... Good luck with the finals, I always found dressing up in a 3 piece put me in a perfect mindset for finals week. (And it impresses your profs and friends too.)

As best I can tell that box is sealed, so with the cut through it's going to act like a 4th order box a little bit.... If sealed and on 2000watts he wont see a 150 legal on a newer TL or the spl190 from AC, but he should be in the low 40s... If he uses an older meter either TL/AC/hydrophone mic he should be near 150s leagal. If he opens a window/door you should be over 150 on the soft, older mics as that is outlaw metering. If he outlaw meters on the new TL/spl190, he might get to the upper 140s...
On the new TL everyone is struggling just to get into the 150s legal. Some need as little as 4000w rms. Most require 8000 watts rms minimum to get there however. The new TL is a bitch.

as for the subs, thats the reason I asked. I think the new 3500 d series are triple stacked. Other than that Bumpin your right in pointing to the 9500s. I thought the box was sealed my self, but then I saw the vent on the far left side. Thus is why I guessed, of the intentions of SPL. From what I understand from DD, the 9500 or the 3500 cant go sealed. They all need to be vented. They do make a sealed sub, I think it was a lower 9000 sereies.
I got a guesstimated meter on my truck. the guy next to me had been meter at 140dbs, and I was playing louder than him. I never officaly got metered. Most of the meters are old here in Hawaii, and no one really is into SPL cometitons here.

As for some clarifacation to the setup posted here.
1. The box is a ported enclosure.
2. Those are the NEW 3500 series 12" they now have basically the same motor as the 9500 series. The Carbon Dustcap is available on any 2500 series sub and up.
3. Right now he is only getting 1000W to the subs due to a shipping mistake from US Amps. he got the US 2000 instead of the 2000X... He's only getting bout 1/2 of what the amp can do. and it was hitting loud enough to vibrate an entire wall of a steel building it was parked outside of.
