My Sat radio install

My Sat radio install
It's a Sirius Xact Plug-n-Play model. I got it free during a TDay promotion if I got a year subscription. I was going to install it in our Previa first, but decided to put it in the 4Runner. I was going to install it the headliner near the map light, but one of the screws holding the map light stripped and the cig lighter cord was too short. Anyway, I decided to put it on the center console like somone else on the board.
Some observations:
Xact Unit: a bit too small for the car use. 3 direct preselects w/another 15 available w/key combinations. Lf/Rt arrow choose categories. Up/Dn changes channels. I can get around easily now, but it takes some learning. Docking station sucks. You have to unscrew the back to get it out. I would have preferred just pushing a button to release it.
Install: Fairly simple. Ran the Sat antenna down the passanger side pillar. I couldn't use the center of the front windshield because the rubber was hard and brittle. Works fine where it is. The radio is installed at an angle to the driver with wires running under the shifter cover.
Usage: I like the install location. With my arm on the armrest, the radio fits comfortably in my hand and I can make changes with my thumb. (It does get in the way of shifting into reverse) I have most of the navigation memorized so I don't need to look down often. It kinda works like this: Preset #1 is set for NPR in the News categorie. If I left arrow, x times I'm in the Jazz category.....My preset are set to: NPR, comedy, Disney. With kids, I can't vary from that much.
I can't complain too much because it was free.
I was going to attach pics, but they are too big. Let me find a place and I post them again.

Nice job!
The only thing I don't like about Sirius is there's only one Blues station  The only presets I'm using are the begining channel's of the (1) Hip Hop catagory and (2) Rock catagory, and I just scroll through as needed.
Siriusly! *hangs head in shame for lame joke*

I can't live without Sirius. I am spoiled!

I thought my PNP2 by audiovox was pretty small, until I saw the new PNP3. the 3 could fit inside the silhouette of my unit.
But, like you,

Hey Rob,
I was looking at the audiovox at the store the other day and like the layout much better. More preset buttons and a dial. I'm with you. I like the XM hardware, but I like sirius content more. If sirius comes out with a walkman type unit like XM, I'll be upgrading.
