So I have just bought a pair of Kenwood Exceleon 6.5in components, and have a 1200w Kenwood 2 channel exceleon amp on the way... and am beginning work on my door mounts. I have a rough idea on how I want to mount them.... MDF rings etc..... but I am just wondering, If I have the option, should I try and aim them properly? I don't think I can get the full angle required, but would a slight/moderate angle in the right direction be worthwhile?
I have a fair amount of experience in fibreglass/fabrication, so the actual angling/pod construction isn't too much of a concern....this is mostly just a question if I should bother or not.

Thats true. Except due to limited resources, I am putting the kick panels off for awhile. (not enough for q-logic, and can't find a damn doner truck for stock panels to build off of.) Eventually I want to go to kicks, and perhaps 2 mid-basses in the doors.....but thats all in time. Highschool budgets can be a b****.

 

Do spend the time to properly aim them - I recommend getting a IASCA competition CD (they sell them online), and using that to help you. It makes a HUGE difference when you get them aimed properly, its really nice to hear the sound coming from above your dash.
To aim them, the best way is to fiberglass the part of the pods that is up against the floor, and then attach some plumber's strapping to the fiberglass and the mdf ring. You can then bend and aim all you want until you get it right. Took me about a week to get them perfect, and then I did the final glassing. Good luck!
