i want to fit a ariel drop switch

i want to fit a ariel drop switch

hi all i want to rig up a switch that drop's a Ariel so i don't snap it when off road i have replaced it once and to get a new one it is £45 plus carriage so has any one did this if can you please tell me the way that you have did it many thanks . the reason i want to do this mod is so i can still listen to Cd's and not the radio

there should be a blue wire coming out of the back of the stereo.. put a switch in line with that blue wire and it should fix your problem.

I used a dpdt two way switch for my rear window that might work for the antenna

Just a simple off/on switch works.... When it's off the power antenna thinks the radio just turned off, bring it down. Turn it back on up it goes.

see Rock Slide thread on Combine Antenna Signals-it's designed for our 3rd gen 4Runners but if you follow along it also gets into a toggle switch for the power antenna-what I think you refer to as aerial. I did this and my power antenna rarely ever gets switched on to come out of the fender now.
