ok guys, im going to be building a new box/boxes for my 2 10" mtx subs. i'll probably just do sealed separate boxes, but i wanna do it right this time so i was wondering if some of you guys could took at the technical mumbojumbo and help me out on the size and what not. here is a link to all those great numbers that make no sense to me. There's a program for designing speakerboxes that will help you with how much space you need for your speakers and whatnot. Nice thing is, you can design different kinds of speakerboxes (i.e. sealed, ported, and bandpass) Website for WINISD freeware (speakerbox program)

This is quite handy. I was on that site before, but never tried the stuff...
I am using the siganl generator to break in subs as I type this.

Edit: They are very warm now.

 

I have a Computerized Router you can use to cut the shapes, if you don't mind driving to Nebraska...lol

Where did you get it and how much?

 

stick with sealed enclosure if you can.

1. they provide an acoustical suspension (the back pressure prevents the motor from over driving).

2. easier to make.

3. provides a smoother roll off instead of a quick drop with 2nd order and higher enclosures.


on a sealed system, try to isolate each sub from each other. that way, they aint fighting each other...
