Decent audio system in hilux sr5
Ok basicly the problem with a hilux sr5 is that there is no space anywhere inside for speakers.
so what i did was put some 4" speakers in the front doors, (cant fit any bigger as the window and door hinge get in the way)
Then i put some 6x9" speakers behind the rear seats, mounting them onto wood and having no box, this works well as it turns the entire seat into a box for bass so as a result the 6x9" speakers put out some impressive bass.
so if anybody is looking for ways to change the wimpy toyota stero then try this, its easy

I like this
I've been going doorless recently, and the only thing keeping me from taking off my passenger side door is the loss of the tunes. The only speakers in my cab are in the door and I've been trying to think of where to mount some up for when the doors are off.

Thanks guys, yeah i just got fed up of having no real stero so i made this . in total it cost me about $20 , £15 for the speakers from the local scrap yard and $5 for the wood
and the spekers work well but they dont produce as much trebble as they would normally because there behind the seats, so there more for bass than anything, you could always put some small speakers into the dash and have some behind the seats so youve got trebble and a bass ? even without doors

Okay ive decided that my truck needs a sub for that extra thump, so i am going to build a box in the cab that takes up as little space as possible and fits a 10" speaker.
heres my idea so far...
I am going to put it here behind the center consol so that it does not get in the way, and its just small enough for the person in the middle to still sit with comfort.
And here is my cardboard model of what i plan to put there.
And this is what it looks like when its in, and yes i can still open the center consol.
so hopefully if it all works ill have the perfect stereo and it will pack a punch, an improvment from the tiny factory speakers.

thanks guys, yeah i was just fed up of my attempt of a stereo still being weak, so i came up with this, but i have come up with another better solution, and it works great ,
ill get some pictures to show you, i have got a total of 9 speakers including a sub in my truck , it pumps, and i managed to get a sub small enought to finally fit it behind the rear seats, it does mis-shape the seat a bit , but meh who cares
