Building custom speaker box

Hey people, me and my cousin are making plans to build a custom subwofer box. So far, we're trying to make a box that will have baffles to channel the air that the speaker driver is pushing. I heard the baffles make the subwoofer make better bass, true?

Anyways, we're using one 10'' sub in a enclosed box at one end, and baffled channels on the other end. I hope this will produce enough bass to beat 2 12's.

Links to any sites on ideas will be helpful, Thanks

Sealed box or ported?

If sealed, all those extra baffles do is displace air, making the box bigger.

If ported, the kind of box you are talking about is called a "folded horn." They are extremely efficient boxes. Put that in google...

what kind of sub are you planning to use

also what kind of power and at what ohm is your amp. these are very important to take into acount when building a box

i am going to put 1 10 in my xtra cab 86 with about 500 watts on it. diamond audio makes some awesome subs check out the d610 very powerfull sub. i put one in a mini cooper and it hammerd. also if you build the box for this sub it will make a world of sound. just my two cents. and buy the way i sell diamond at the shop i run and never had to many issues with it blowing up.

I've just completed it today. I'm using a cheap old 10" sub with dual voice coils, and a generic brand 300 watt amp that I bought from the pawn shop. So far the setup is running strong and giving off tremendous bass, pretty much the same as my old 4 10's in a rectangle box. I did the bandpass design.

Heres the link to the site where I got my idea from: http://www.decware.com/dbk10.htm

I have two JL 10w0-4s and want to make a box to use these subs to their potential.

Could you post a little more information that I could try and go by? This is my first box so I need some guidance.

Thanks
