98 4Runner amp bypass issue

Hello all,

I promise I searched before creating an account and making this post. I've searched google and youtube but I can't seem to find my specific issue, so I came to yall.
Installed the new HU to the wires coming off the factory amp but I wasn't getting sound however the HU would power on. If I were to turn my lights on while the unit was connected I would get a loud buzz coming from the speakers.
So I decided to go ahead and bypass the amp.
Went ahead and cut off the connectors coming from the amp and hooked up the wires (via butt connectors) to the harness my radio came with the same way they were hooked up when using the wires coming off the amp.
Now there are 3 or 4 wires not in use and my HU is not coming on at all.
