1996+ Sub enclosure for pass side cargo area?
I seem to remember that Alpine or one of the other major car audio co's makes a custom box that fits nicely in the rear pass side cargo are of '96+ 4Runner's but after searching here and on Google I only found this one by Q Logic which seems to be bigger and also needs to be painted to match. Anybody know the one I'm thinking of? I'd like to ditch my big box and two twelves for something a little smaller.
Thanks!
Thanks!

I read that on the Crutchfield website I believe, something to the effect of "Can be painted to match". I assumed that to mean it comes black and can be color matched. Are they available in both gray and oak or gray only? I would need oak.

Sean,
SEM has some great colors to color match (or at least come VERY close) whatever you buy. I've done small projects here with interior plastic painting, so if you can find whatever youre looking for cheap on ebay, I'd say buy it and then paint it later
Also, I've read a few reviews a year or two ago on this and 4x4wire and a few guys who had the q-logic subwoofer enclosure. Some guys liked it and some guys didn't. I recall one guy saying that if you stuffed it w/ the polyfill, then it really helped with the bass sound.

I recently used their products to create a texture coating on a driving (fog) light switch I fabbed out of an existing cut out and the Hella supplied switch.

I was also considering building a fibreglass sub box similar to the q logic. I recently saw how easy it was to build kick panels for speakers in the front and it got me thinking.
Anyone done this yet? The part I can't figure out is how to use up all available space in the storage cubby area in back and keep it a one piece sealed unit.
The kick panels I saw being made were very simple and weren't sealed like a sub enclosure would need to be. I was thinking I would have to make an exact fitting box to fit in the storage space and then something like the kick panel for the outside of the storage space.

i also have a Q form box. its in oak and is a nice match colorwise, but i've had some pretty bad rattle problems. The box even cracked around the edge to the left of the sub. this crack caused a rediculous bang. They wanted me to take it all out and send it back to them. I really didn't feel like sending it back, i know, i'm lazy. We dynamatted over it and it seems to be holding up, been almost two years. The thing also rattled the hell out of all the trim around the box. we dynamatted almost the whole panel, box and other various areas, but it still rattled off the glass. we then proceeded to stuff a ton of foam, like an egg crate, behind there and it sounds great now. IMO, way too much of a PITA for what i would up paying for everything including the dynamat. Luckily, my buddy installs at a tweeter by me so i didn't have to pay for the labor, we just did it after hours. i would look into the JL audio one. I know they make one but i have no clue if it works any better.
