Question 1992 4Runner

I was wondering If anybody has a wiring diagram, for the stereo for a 1992 4runner? I noticed that there is six speakers in my 4runner two in front on the lower part of the dashboard two on the back above the rear window and two on the rear quarter panels. Do the speakers on the quarter panels have seperate wiring? Any help is greatly appreciated.

hey man,
if you want to change out ur speakers in the rear. You have to re-wire the the speakers. Ussually new speakers come with wires. The stock rear toyota speakers on my 94 are weird, they were these stock amped boxes and the wiring was all crazy, so i just cut it and ran new wires from my head unit. straight back. I made my own speaker cut outs and drilled them into side paneling, it looks stock. I put 6x9's in so its loud too.
Umm, do u have an aftermarket head unit?

Yeah I have a Kenwood Excelon unit, I was wondering how to hook this speakers up because, they are the only ones not working. I want to replace them with aftermarket ones, just for mids.

I had the same problem...ok, its confusing..for me at least...here it goes
Those stock amped boxes for some reason, only worked when my radio was on withmy aftermarket headunit.
when i was playing a cd, the speakers in the back never worked...you have to rewire them and get new ones. and get rid of other wires that connect to that speaker box.

just run new speaker wires from your head unit all the back to your new speakers...the old stuff is weird.

I found the cable that turns those amps on, it is on the main plug for the stereo and it is a blue cable, with anther blue cable looping of it. I hooked them up to my amp remote on cable from my head unit and the speakers work fine.

yep, thats how it works, you just need to hook up the remote, and when the head unit goes on, the amp for the speaker will go on.
