Nope, not yet. Kevin may go but he's gotta figure out why his gas mileage blows before he decides. Charles has a wedding to attend so it's just me and you and the sig. other for now.

My buddy is in the TX TTORA but he'll be offshore so he can't go. I hope it's not going to be to crowded.

Shouldn't be, it's not a major event for them (I don't know if you've ever heard of their Texas Takeovers, but this will be nothing like that). Looks like they have about 8 trucks signed up so far. You can follow their thread here .

I like how the TTORA guys do the roll call with each person stating what they are bringing as far as equipment...nice Idea.

Does anyone know any of the TTORA tx guys? Looks like they will be on ch12 on the CBs... we should pick another ch.

I think we should all park in the woods and mess with them and pick fights. hehe.

I know one dude but he won't be there, he'll be offshore.

I know that there was someone else looking into getting a hotel.

I looked at longview and tyler tx for hotels and they are 45 min-1:15 drive time to gilmer.

There are two podunk hotels in gilmer that I am looking into

Executive Inn (903) 843-6099 Gilmer Hwy 271
Gilmer Inn (903) 843-3033 Gilmer Hwy 271
I think they are owned by the same people because when I asked for other hotels they transfered me to the other one.

Glimer Inn and Executive Inn TX

the guy at the executive inn quoted me $53-69
the lady at gilmer inn quoted me $43-55
I will more then likely stay at one of these because I do not want to drive an hour each way to and from the hotel.

If anyone else is looking into the hotels, let me know. I might try to get a better rate.

I'll be camping. I thought about getting a hotel but I can't drop the cash right now. I will be flying back east in a couple weeks for an interview though, so I may be relocating and money may start to flow again. wish me luck.

plus she wants to slap me for my comments.

Maybe Gumbo will bring some gumbo and I won't have to cook myself a hotdog at camp.

let us know if you don't get it done. I have no problem staying up all night and lending a hand to get it done before the run.

You are a cool az mofo Keisur.

I would appreciate that.. but it would be sort of hell without a nice jack and I'm not doing it with a hi lift.

I am thinking they will not get here in time...
Someone I talked to said that ARB USA is really backed up with the OME stuff and it took him 3 weeks to get his stuff.

My fingers are crossed.

I might go ahead and put in my discos and diff drop befor. Do you see a problem with the CVs being too flat put in a diff drop with no lift yet?

Now why'd you go and mention a nice jack? I can bring one of those, a nice craftsman 21". just kidding. I hope you get that lift in. it's really not that tough with one person, it just takes longer.

I would go ahead and put the discos in, it took me about 10 minutes each side, you have to drill the hole that the heim goes in (lower end) so make sure you have a big enough bit, I had to use a smaller bit, the biggest one I had and rock it around to open it up. I was too lazy to go buy a bit.

the drop I would hold off on. I don't know of any problems that could arise but you might as well wait on that.

I have a great floor jack...but I do not want to go wheeling with a 100 lb jack in the runner

I have a nice Step drill bit that brings you right to 1/2" So I will not have any problems with the discos. and I could get the front SAWs on...but how silly would that be with stock rears ( plus, I think my rears are destroyed.. since my last wheeling experience..I feel my rig bottoming out over very small bumps in the road) .. feels like poop
The Diff drop looks like it would only take 20 min or so...how long did yours take? and how involved was it?

then you are in luck, if you want I can bring my old rear springs (only about 5000 miles on them) and we can swap out your old ones really quick so you aren't bottoming out on the trails. let me know and I'll bring them along. I've had them sitting there for 2 years and nobody wants to buy them so I don't mind donating them.

the diff drop is easy. just take off the skid, unbolt the front two diff bolts, slap in the spacers and reassemble using the supplied bolts and washers. I didn't have to use the new skidplate bolts or drill holes in the skidplate. it still lined up. I've heard that other people had to drill new holes in the plate or use the supplied bolts. it took me about 10 minutes after the skidplate was off. I had torn cartilage in my right shoulder when I put mine in, that was a pain because I had to try and torque them up.

Thats real cool of you... I hope to have mine in by then though.
I talked the Wife into not going ( to save money) and so it looks like I will be crashing in the 4runner with you guys.
I think its my shocks that are bad..my ass end is not saging at all but it feels like it is bottoming out. I am sure I will have my stuff by then.
