Mineral Wells information

Ok folks,

I just received some helpful information that would be of some interest to those of you wanting to trail ride at Mineral Wells.

It is not a legal place to ride...it is not posted...and the owner has
told me in the past that if we rode there no one would bother us..but
because of liability concerns will not come out and say "yes, we can wheel
there".
Directions:
first stop light west of Mineral Wells State Park on Hwy 180 turn
right(north)...the trails are on the right in about 2 miles (veer left at
the Y)
Behind Holt Equipment. Only this block is not posted. You will get in
trouble on the other blocks.
Laura
This is from a source that is on good terms with the land owner.

What do you guys think? :pat:

we went at 360 and that place is apparently illegal ... didn't get any trouble at all there, so ... i dunno, mineral wells sounds even less like we'd cause a problem ...

So far as I know we are still considering it. If nothing else we can hit Marshall Creek. I think as long as we stay aware of the posted trespassing signs. I'm sure we won't be the only group out there. We shall see...

I am up for it if it is legal. I don't want to get in trouble, but I don't mind riding somewhere new.

Ok folks,

I would like to change my views of this place. Last Wednesday I was invited out there with a couple guys. We wheeled all through out that place and were never bothered or even given a second look. The guys I wheeled with were telling me that this land was once owned by the Army (old Fort) and was used to run their troops through for PT. They would also test out their military vehicles out there as well. All in all I was assured that it was in fact legal to wheel there just as long as we abide by the leave it as you found it rule. This place was pretty cool. There are some wicked rock walls to climb which I made up most, but lost out on the biggest one (need to get the front locked up). I'll try and get some pics up after I get settled in San Antonio, but if not then I'll bring them out to Barnwell for the 17th - 19th Zu run.

Spectre, looks like this might interest you. Sorry I didn't contact when I went, but it was a quick decision to go and well I didn't have any contact info for you. Next time, bro.

Later,
Mando
