You are correct. It is mainly for safety, and yes, there were some coming out in the beginning with nothing to keep them from crushing if they rolled over. A hard top/full top is acceptable.

I am the katemcyrocks.com webmaster, Necy. As long as you do not mind possible scratches, dents, etc. it is a blast. Bring a camera because it is for sure memorable and you will like the folks running the place, the Kruse's (pronounced: crew-see) and Shain Chapman.

Anything I can do to help, let me know.

Necy

Well, I'm game for this run if it happens after the 16th this month. I never make plans too far in advance. BTW, I'll be out at Marshall Creek tomorrow (Sun) afternoon. If the mud is too thick then we'll just watch the others get stuck.

Sorry guys. I won't be able to make it to anymore runs around here. I will be relocating to Greenville, SC the week of July 13th. Yes, I got the job! HAHA!! I'll try to make it back out here sometime but, huh, since it IS Texas I probably won't have much of an itch to come back.

That is great news for you!! That rocks.

I hope not to be here in Tx much longer either.
I just got medically disqualified to fly in the USAF on Thurs. so Who knows how much longer I have left in the AF.

Me being out of shape has nothing to do with what is wrong with me...its all good though. I knew it was going to happen for a while...its just official now thats all

Everyone I talk to said that what I have will not be a problem with the FAA only the Military..so It might work out better for me.

What will you do with your runner now?

name change? Herkengineer = Spectre

product engineering for a company that makes widescreen picture tubes. Well, I said I wasn't going to go back into the oil field and I didn't. this will be a new industry for me and I'll learn alot. a little more secure than the oil field also.

I'm just pizzed I'll miss Katemcy.

Yeah, I asked them if they could help me out...since I am no longer a herkengineer..its sort of silly to keep the name.

picture tubes huh no more huge bolts, or 90 drgree angles...just picture tubes.

I took a detour yesterday to find katemcy rocks on my way home from Fredericksburg. and could not find it at all...is it not marked? I asked a guy who was working on a tractor where it was and he said he had never heard of it.

I was northbound on 377 between Mason and Brady and saw a sign for Katemcy on road 1222 so I took it and went up and down all of the dirt roads off of 1222 all around Katemcy.
From what I saw the rocks looked killer.

Is it only open on Sat/Sun? No sign?
