User titles
many forums I am on allow users to changed their user titles, so they dont all say "Registered User" or "Contributing Member" and instead can have custom phrases.
Is this something YT can do, or would be interested in doing? Obviously we would be following the same strict guidelines as posting in threads. However, i feel it would better help identify our online persona
Good example is I have recently (and Jokingly) been labeled a stalker, so I would like to change my title from "Contributing Member" to "Resident Stalker"
Thoughts? Ideas? Concerns?

Im sorta torn on it just being for contributng members....since YT no longer has to have an income (since being sold) less members are becoming contributing members. Its a little *too* elite.

It's nice on TTORA. You have to be a contributing member there to have one though. But those titles actually help us staff sometimes because there are certain labels we sometimes need to use. (Like Banned) Which obviously would superceed a user chosen name. But I am not sure how much work needs to be done in VBB to enable this in such a way that it wouldn;t make a lot more work for us mods.
In the mean time, that's what Sig Lines are for.
And If I could "Change" mine... I'd be Chuck Norisette or Legendary PigPen!

Just for clarification, when you say we were sold. That's not a bad thing.
It allows for more reliable user access, faster speeds and an overall better environment.
The fact that most people don't even know that is a sign that we're still exactly as we were years ago.
As far as custom titles go...I am torn.
They are neat but can get confusing and out of hand sometimes.
I do think there needs to be some variable in place for when a user can do it.
Maybe not contributing but maybe post count or something.
100 posts, 200 posts I don't know.
As 'Coug said, as with all things here it has to be family-oriented and appropriate.
