Thanks button is actually to DISCOURAGE post padding, and stupid posts like "Awesome" "Great job" and "Looks great"

Whats wrong with telling people their trucks look good or that they did a good job?

I don't think that's stupid. I appreciate compliments.

It becomes a problem when people are post padding to get to the 15 post minimum to sell stuff.

One word or two word replies aren't much of a compliment, so much as they are a passing comment.

O.k., I've been wondering what "post padding" is lately. And now I think I've got even less of an idea.

So is it short posts? Or passing comments? Or so called "stupid" posts?

And what the hell is so wrong with any of those? Is this a witch hunt? Who's going to be making the calls on what's "too short", "too vague", "too stupid"? This reeks of socialism/communism/"Big Brother". And I can see it getting out of control quickly.

Now if it's to stop solicitors, kind of like a "No Soliciting" sign, I can sort of understand that. But will it have the desired effect? And no unwanted side-effects?

Who's idea was this? Are we the guinea pigs? Or has this scheme worked for any good purpose on another site(s)? Is this really just a way to try and make more money for the site? Because that's what else I think I'm smelling here? And it stinks!

Especially right about now. Because this whole "thanks button" idea is about as dumbass as it gets!

BTW, can I turn it off? What if I don't want to be "thanked" or "give thanks" in that fashion? What if I don't want my "thank count" to be public? God forbid I don't "thank" or "get thanked" enough.

This is ridiculous...I'm seriously thinking about leaving you idiots to fend for yourselves. This may be "the last straw".
