It seems to me that the old "which tire" thread is still far and away the most popular thread to ask. So perhaps we could address this directly. Heck, maybe even turn it into a tire/suspension thing.

My initial thought was to create a thread where we all post the model/year of our rig and the tires we have had first hand experience with. We could give a brief description of the terrian and our driving habits, then give our impressions/opinions of the tire, including how many miles we put on the tire. Perhaps end it with a "I would/would not recommend" or "I would/would not but it again" deal.

Then I got to thinking that perhaps this is a big enough and popular enough topic to warrant it's own section. There could be threads for each individual brand (or even each individual tire) with our experiences with that tire. This would certainly be easier to search for/find a specific tire. Perhaps we could do the same type of thing with our different suspension setups.

What do you guys think?

I suppose that if YotaTech didn't want to get into this type of thing, I could do the tire part of it on my website. It would be fairly easy to setup a form users could fill out and keep a database of various tires.

Thoughts?

 

Sounds Like A Good Idea To Me. I Could Just About Start A Faq With My First Hand Knowledge On Truck Tires. I Have Owned Just About Every Tire You Can Imagine Since I Work In A Tire Store.
As A Matter Of Fact, I Can't Even Remember The Last Set Of Tires I Wore-out!!!

The search option is great but for a topic as well-covered as tires... there's just TOO MANY posts to have to filter through.

 

I tried to start a thread like this a few weeks ago, didn't get a whole lot of replies, but the ones that are there are full of info. I agree that if we can get everyones tire experiences into a single, searchable thread it would be ideal.

 

I'm a so I built my own database. It's very early in testing, but I could use some help populating the DB. Right now, I've only tested it in IE, and there is no reporting mechanism in place. But if any of you want to tell me about tires you've had FIRST HAND EXPERIENCE with, I'd love to get some more entries in the DB.

I posted my recent tire data Jackson. I have some experience with some other tires on past vehicles, but I just put the 2 sets i've dealt with on my Runner.
