Site hanging again (12-30-2009)

If anyone is experiencing the site hanging, no connection, posts not going through, ect...
It is a firewall issue.

They are waiting on a new patch to resolve some issues.
A new firewall was added a short time back if you remember to help with the DOS attacks some punk was using against the site here.

You are welcome.
A good thing to practice and I do so anyways on just about any forum I post to, is to copy & paste your entire post to your clipboard just in case the firewall hangs when you are posing.
Then you can come back and post it again.

A patch was applied yesternight, but it did not work so they rolled it back.
There would be no need for the super duper extra protection if not for the punk that initiated the attacks here by creating malware that turns other peoples computers into zombies to attack the site here.

Thanks.
I have a fried desktop computer holding down my desk upstairs because of some butthead and a virus the computer ate.

Pretty much impossible to track him down since he does not do the attacks himself.

People pick up the spyware and virus he planted around the Internet, and then their computers are taken over (zombified) and then ordered to carry out the attacks against the server here.

Their PCs will remain infected until they wipe the spyware or virus off of their PC.

There are so many infected computers out there that it will be impossible to track them down.

I only hope this twit brags one day to someone about it and it gets back to us.

Patch for the firewall is less than two weeks away.
Hopefully that will fix a few things.
It is working better for me today and yesterday.

Just a quickie on this. One of the chaps from the U.K has been trying to register and the sign up page keeps timing out. Is it just a case of keep trying every so often until it works, or is he best off contacting you directly to get a manual sign up?

Cheers.

He can contact me via the contact page.
If he keeps trying to sign up and accidentally makes another account, it will lock him down.

Please post the times and frequency that the site is timing out.
This way tech can look at the logs to see what may be causing this.

Is the issue still occurring on regular basis daily, has anything improved? (anders)
