What time are you getting this message?

I use to get it daily at 2:30 am PST every work day before I would leave for work, but the schedule has been changed to night time I believe for the site backup of all the files here.

I think I get it pretty regularly around 6 or 7pm? and also just today (this morning around 10:30-11)

Corey, it might be my own boneheaded lack of skills. Maybe my web browser? I'm using Safari

Safari has an odd "caching issue" in which if you go to the website and it had that maintence screen, it will load it, even though the site is really up. Simply hitting the refresh button will casue the regular site to load. However, this won't fix the issue for the next time you visit.

You need to do a "super cache" clearing, and is required you have the Safari debug menu turned on. For directions on doing this, search over at http://www.macosx.com.

I've been getting it as well, most recently was yesterday around 5pm.

I had a couple of YT windows open and started a search in one of them ("canned version" & user=midiwall). Once the search "started" (i.e., the POST was sent off) then the other YT windows got REAL slow to respond to my attempts to open a thread for reading.

Eventually (maybe 90 seconds), one-by-one the open attempts were met with the "planned maintenance" banner. The search never returned.

I was thinking that the search may have hit a disk error, SQL hiccuped, couldn't recover, and rebooted itself. If SQL went away, then vB may put up a default banner (the "planned maint" graphic) while it waited for the server to come back.

Just a thought.

YT as a whole did eventually come back - probably 5-6 minutes later.

Even at 2 am here I am having performance issues with the server here

I will say that it is possible that we may be moving shortly after the end of this year.

We will keep people informed as to when the board will be shut down for the move.
The move will take less than half a day when it happens, and the server will be faster than this one.

When this one is working right, it is fast.
But as of late...

Well, enjoy the speed... this box has nothing to do but serve yotatech.com right now... be busy with other tasks as the week progresses.

Scott, the new box seems to be smokin', we are on fire

I see we are now off the beta version of the software, so hopefully we will be running a lot better.

Speed and consistency are always good.
