I was going to contribute--but why bother now--like all things--off to another site. I was also going to start adding to the Wiki on 3rd gen running gear....etc..info i have come accross while doing my build....
I wonder how many of us are going to get banned now for speaking out?

I'm also unhappy with this new developement, the way the search engine works, and all the unrelated ads. I for one have zero interest in any big three related products for example. However some ads, provided they are relative to the topic being discussed/searched, might be useful as long as they are guaranteed to be non-viral/mining in nature since they serve to make us aware of products and solutions that we might not all know about.
I concur with Tofer those roll over ads drive me up a wall...
I run several anti-junk programs weekly/daily just to try to keep everything running smoothly thanks for the firefox ad blocker idea Corey it will keep my dad's machine running a lot better I hope, he is still a web noob and picks up all kinds of crap and corruption... lol
as for the top and bottom banners I more or less ignore them... I think as a matter of good faith yotatech approved vendors should be put into the ad rotation gratis...

All things change...part of life.
I love Yotatech but if it shut off tomorrow...my life would go on and I don't think I'd lose a second of sleep over it.
In the grand scheme of life...a few ads or a few banners...I could care less.
Will it affect my presence here? Nah. Will it annoy me? Perhaps.
It is the internet and all forums are being used to make folks money. Capitalism at its best...or worst.
I will continue to live inside my own little world and enjoy it regardless of a few ads or banners.

You're a patient guy Corey. I think KCTopher wouldn't even give an answer, but just say "See Ya!"

Interesting thread.
I just spent 20 seconds installing AdBlocker add-on and all the banner ads went away.
Seems to me that's a simple enough option to eliminate a majority of the new pollution to be found on YT.

Well then BRING ON THE ADS!
As a small business owner, I would think you of all people would have a problem with this. Big expensive companies on your turf! You have supported this site for many years, and it has supported you.
I noticed a Circuit City ad today when i logged in. I have never noticed a WabFab ad up there?! I know its really none of my concern, but i hate seeing the little guy get pushed out. If this website ends up like most others with an ad between every other posting, ill move on. Its not just a hassle, its rather difficult to read! I liken it to people who type in big run on sentences and refuse to use grammar or punctuation. It breaks up the train of thought, and often times is so annoying I will leave the thread or just go somewhere else.
What that means is A. i cannot gain any knowledge on the subject, and B. I cannot share my knowledge for other to benefit from.
As more and more old timers who have been here through thick and thin move on, the knowledge base here gets smaller and smaller.

I got a call just this week from a guy in California who ordered up a slider adapter...he had no email address and no internet access. He heard about WabFab the good old fashioned way...someone else told him after he saw my slider adapter. As long as I have satisfied customers I'll continue to sell just as much stuff as I always do.
I'm not looking to get rich anyway, just pay for my Toyota addiction.
Merry Christmas!

I personally am not going to get too wound up about all this. Yes ads are irritating somewhat, but to tell you the truth I hardly notice the ones here now. That may be do to the fact that I am running the Firefox ad blocker, anyhow the point is, I'm not going freak out of here prematurely.
If I like it I'll stay, if I don't I'll leave. That would probably sum it up for everyone. It's like worrying for months on end that your unborn child will be normal, you can only deal with it as it comes.

I could get my shorts in a bunch, but that is not how I started WabFab or how it will continue.
