Adding a bit of color would make it easier on the eyes and make scrolling to the topic area a little faster. What do you guys think?

I like the thought. Something to help your eyes break down the sections quicker.

EXACTLY!

come on, 20 or so people have looked at this and nobody else has an opinion??
If you don't like it then just say so and if you do then let it be known.

If every "headline section" was the same color (like post #2) i think it would look really nice with the new colorful banner we now have.

IMO, the blue you picked is too hard to read against the black "extreme" background. Needs to be lighter IMO.

Check out the Tech Write-ups now.
You mean like that?

I was not sure it was possible, but it is.
I just looked at the source code of where you typed Tech Write-ups on your post above, and found the code for it.
Very simple.

I will run this past Kctopher too.
I think it looks pretty cool myself.

PS, I use the Extreme layout here, but I just tried it with the Original one too, and the orange looks pretty good.

A small problem, and Cebby pointed it out to me.
Click here, this is the new Tech Write-up section.
https://www.yotatech.com/forums/f125/

Now look at the very top part of your browser in the colored title car area.
It has the font code and color name in it.

Might take a while to figure it out to make it go bye bye.

When you get it figured out, you should make the "The Rules" section Red!

Yeah, I like the looks of that! All orange heading would be cool. It does make it a bit easier to see.

You all do such an awesome job here. Don't know how you have the time for this

Hmm... If I had to guess, you made it work by just wrapping the section title text in a FONT tag, right?

You'll need to look deeper in the code and find where it uses the section title variable and insert code that concatenates the tag around the variable.

I can see a couple of issues you'll run into here. One is making this easy to maintain across vB releases, and the other is creating a mechanism that allows for setting attributes on a per title basis.

I've never looked at the vB source, but my guess is that there's a config file which holds the title text, forum layout, etc. I would think that the right way to do this would be to expand that file to include color/size attributes for each title. This also means that you'll have to tweak the form(s) that the admins use to set these variables.

It's "straight forward" to do, but it's something that will take some time to do right. So.... that old "who's got the time" thing comes into play.
