Windshield Brackets for Lighting?

Windshield Brackets for Lighting?
My friends Jeep has driving light's installed on the joint where the windshield hinges, next to the rearview mirrors, similar to where the search lights are on police cars. I thought this was a really nice place to put some lights, ease of wiring, etc.
I have a 2002 runner and was wondering if there was a bracket like this for mounting lights for the 3rd gen 4runner? Any Ideas would be welcome.

I don't know of anybody making a production bracket for that. But if you designed it, you can have some built or build them yourself, depending upon your capabilities.
They look ok on Jeeps, but I'm not sure about them on a runner. As well as the Jeep already has bolts and bolt holes that can be VERY easily utilized to mount a light bracket. Runner's, not having a folding windshield obviously do not have that natural capacity and will require some fabrication. You would probably want to make an external bracket and some kind of stiffener for behind it (if you can get there).
I don't know about where your at, but a lot of places you have to keep in mind that any lights mounted higher than the stock headlights are required to be covered and are only allowed for off-road use.
Where were you thinking about locating them? On the A-pillar? Bracket mounted on the cowl?
That's one way to do it!

Ya. I hadn't thought about it when I mounted mine on the roof. But it really doesn't bother me. With my lights on the bar, behind the cab, they don't create as much glare at it would if they were on the hood. But I have a lot on the side of the cab, like if i stick my hand out he window

I use to have a light bar on my 4Runner with twin KC Daylighters and a set of fogs. I forgot to put the sunroof cover back in one night wheelin' and let me tell you, OOOHHHHHWEEEEE!!! I wear my sunglasses at night!! Lit up the cab like it was day light...ers...lol! I never forgot about the cover again!!

I didn't like the mirror mounted light idea since i get rocks kicked up there and it would get broken. also along with hood glare and having a light near the driver would be distracting. if i mounted lights the bumper would be the best next to the headlights.
