what would be my best bet to cut 1/4 in steel tubing?

I've got about 50 feet of 2 inch square tubing. looks to be pretty damn thick. prob 1/4 inch. Im going to cut my smitty built bumper up and use the part that mounts to the frame to build a more low profile bumper out of the steel.

Ive got my cheapo harbor freight mig welder but all I got to cut is a jig saw. Whats the best way to cut this stuff if your on a budget? If I buy something, funds are pretty low...so im thinking harbor freight status on some sort of saw.

thanks

Some sort of saw with an abrasive blade, either a circular saw or a cheap cut off saw. HF will have both and get a pack of blades too.

This would be best http://www.harborfreight.com/power-t...saw-91938.html

Also check your local craigslist for a cut off saw, lots of people selling off excess stuff right now or shops closing. Might get a name brand one for the same price.

Invest in a grinder, you'll need one.

Depends how much you want to spend. The Cheapest way to do it is a small angle grinder with cut off wheels. If you can afford it, definitely get a chop saw.

How many amps is your harbor freight mig welder?

Chop saw with an abrasive wheel.
Don't go harbor freight for it. I did and ended up buying one from Home Depot.

haha, I totally forgot about that! You couldn't pay me enough to make a dozen cuts through 1/4" with a hacksaw!

That would have to be one large, probably expensive bandsaw. Plus you'll need a ton of coolant to keep the blade cool

i dont want to kick a dead horse, but the angle grinder with a cutting wheel is my best friend. i prefer it over the chop saw most of the time.
