Shane,
I'm assuming that you put this up because you want to keep the hard core section, but you didn't mention why in the poll. Any reason you want it to stay that might change my mind?

I wanted to make sure everyone saw the poll and got a chance to vote. I personally think it should stay but I'm not going to try and sway anyone from what they think. We're here to please you guys so if the majority of yotatechies say it's not needed we'll dissolve it.

Maybe we can have a lighted valve stem and clear corner forum instead

This forum has not been around long enough to have caught on yet, so it's kinda like changing horses midstream to my mind.

Besides, we already know that only a small portion of YotaTechies post here, so of course most are going to vote against keeping it...

The deck is stacked against us man!

Nah, "Hardcore" to me is more of an attitude. My rig is coming together nicely, but there are a bunch of people on here who are way more hardcore than me. I have made it easier for me to take on some of the trail challenges around here, but what is hardcore to me is the folks who do amazing things with far less money invested.

As I see it, this section has a few strikes against it. There's not many on YotaTech who push the abilities of themselves and their rigs when wheeling. (not a slam, just an observation) Those of us who do read this section are geographically far away from each other, so it's not like we can get together and hang out. The section is new, so until it gains some critical mass, it's going to be pretty quiet. The very term "hardcore" is subjective. Some of the stuff I do looks hardcore to noob's on my runs, but to me, I am by no means "hardcore". I see some of the run photos on other boards and I am amazed at the stuff they call a trail. Having wheeled with Jason Demello in his IFS Tacoma, I can say I saw him do more "hardcore" stuff in that rig than I am willing to do in mine.

I appreciate what they were trying to do by creating this section, but I am not convinced that calling it "Hardcore" and leaving that undefined did it any favors... I cringe when I post here, since I don't consider myself to be hardcore as such and I am sure other don't post at all.

But, thanks for the compliment

I would give my take in full detail, but I got tubing to bend, but I say, let it stay (its the progression)

Hardcore, a WAY over used term...

I agree that hardcore can mean a number of things, and many times it's about what you do with what you have. My truck is not all that hard core to me, compared to other rigs I've owned or trucks I've seen on this board, and some people thought me doing Desoto Mine trail, or Metal Masher, was a bit more than my truck was up for, but I've been wheelin a lot longer than most people on this forum and am probably willing to push the limits more. It also doesn't hurt that my truck is old and beat up, so I don't notice the new dents. I voted to combine the two because I thought the content was similar enough that it made sense. I do not in any way want to see the hard core content go away, I just noticed I was switching back and forth between the two forums, and that posting on each had dropped off. If it means losing content, please keep them both, but I don't think it would hurt to have it all in one place.

Agreed..... let's call it "eXtreme" instead.

That's another option, we can redo the names and descriptions for the existing sections. Ideas are always welcome.

I think that Extreme is just as over used Besides, extreme is still a relative thing and most of us here would not meet that definition on many other boards...

What we need is a word that describes those who don't care to EVER see another set of nerf bars/running boards. Those who don't want to argue about which wax is best and those who don't consider polishing the lugnuts to be a mod...

It's not so much hardcore or extreme as it's *NOT* street and Forest Circus roads...

Nope, I got the sarcasm and chose to ignore it Besides, it was a little too close to the truth in a place where people spell "Sliders", "Sliderz"... "eXtreme" cuts a bit close to the quick...

What I meant is they're all overused, it's hard to come up with something new these days.

Then why not get rid of the 4x4 and off road section, blend that into the hard core section, and start that "bling, bling" section I suggested on the poll.
I'm with Rob on getting the 20" rims and clear corners into their own section. That wax system Corey keeps raving about just made my rust look like crap.

I am too lazy to search the archives for when this first started, but I still think that it is dilluting content.

It was good for a while when Rob and Shane were swapping and for that time was perhaps best called the Swap Status forum.

When I want "hardcore" "extreme" or cutting edge wheeling content, I read PBB. Considering that, and I mean to only offer this as an empirical statement, most people on this board still have two open diffs, I do not think that a section dedicated to swaps and the like has a place.

I appreciate the hard work that people are putting in to keep this place going and I also appreciate the people that I have met from this board, the wheeling I have done, and the friends that I have made, but I think that the majority of the people here are not in need of hardcore. I may be a bit skewed since I drive old junk and tech on new stuff that pushes the envelope is hard to find, but this is how I see it..
