Tubing

What is the difference between HREW and DOM tubing? What do the letters stand for? I'm wondering because most things made from DOM tubing are more expensive.

DOM = drawn over mandrel
HREW = hot rolled electrically welded

DOM starts out as HREW, then it is drawn through a mandrel which both work hardens it and improves dimensional tolerances. Both work hardening and consist wall thickness improves it's strength.

DOM is a solid piece of steel pulled over a mandrel and made into a tube, where as HREW is a flat sheet rolled into a tube and welded which gives it a seam and also makes it weaker.
